Ariane Charbonneau

MA Student, Media Studies, Concordia University

2016 – BA Specialization in Women’s Studies, Concordia University

Ariane Charbonneau is a bespectacled adjective lover who spends her days satiating her compulsive curiosity. Her research is rooted in the reflexivity of fiction and “real” life and stresses the connection between romance/intimacy and technology in the post-WWII epoch. She relishes in the creation and consumption of handicrafts created from paper and textile, graphic design as well as her decades-long enterprise of documenting and analyzing Japanese Girl Culture in its domestic and global settings. Beyond her pragmatic research thesis, she aims to create enticing future(s) through irreverent wearable art pieces highlighting the incongruities of feminine existence in inhospitable societies.
