Danica Evering is a metaphorist and imposter of German descent from Cobourg, Ontario. Her current thesis work addresses power structures in socially engaged art through poetry. Informed by four years of working in this field, she brings together experimental writing, conversations with practitioners, and theoretical texts. She wonders: how do we engage the complexity of power and feeling inherent in social practice’s optimism? In addition to this writing, Danica is a part of the editorial team of Publication Studio Guelph, a sibling studio of an international publishing network that attends to the social lives of books, and a board member of Kazoo!, a new music and art festival and year-round music series.
