Events and Community Coordinator
As a product of the African diaspora, the relationship between place, space, media and communication in identity formation have proven to be central to AMi Kenzo’s commitments, advocacy and expression. They have fuelled her desire to analyse, understand, capture and advocate for marginalized identities and voices by means of community organizing, film curating and filmmaking.
As a current graduate student in Media Studies, her research interests include critical race studies, Black feminist thought as well as postcoloniality and Afro-diasporic feminist visual cultures. While delving into her research interests, she seeks to specifically explore Black feminist subjectivity and triple consciousness in Afro-diasporic film.
