End of Term Gathering

Join us for a discussion and writing session on our lab values, what they mean to us as individuals and a collective, and how we can and do implement these values in our work, scholarship, and lives. We will build on previous conversations and writing sessions, honing focus on the value fostering spaces of refuge, selected by our members ahead of this meeting, and collaborate on how we as a lab can continue to engage with this value in practice. We encourage you to visit our library ahead of this meeting if you are interested in learning more about how we arrived at our lab values and their working definitions.
Following this (approx. 90 minute work session) we invite folks to stay / join us for a casual end of term gathing. Tour the space and equipment library, meet our staff, and learn more about ways to get involved at the FMS in the coming year. Current membership is not required, everyone is welcome to attend this event.
Light vegetarian and vegan snacks and refreshments will be served.

Attendees are welcome to pop in, meet our staff and members, view our space and technical resources, and to engage with an activity station prompting them to think, write, draw, and chat in response to our living document of Lab Values.

The Feminist Media Studio is located on the second floor of the Communications and Journalism (CJ) building on the Loyola Campus which can be accessed via an outdoor staircase or ramped entrance. The second floor can then be reached by indoor stairs or elevator. The lab door opens outward into a hallway with a key card entry (restricted to active FMS members).
Inside the lab there is a lounge area with low seating, a narrow kitchenette that may be difficult to navigate with a wheelchair or walker, a large conference room with sliding barn doors, moveable tables and chair seating, the technician’s office which requires key-access, and a production studio which requires key access and features a small sound booth, with a raised floor.
