Daniela Silva Trujillo is a Montreal-based content creator and social media manager. Her creative work is fueled by an obsession with the Internet and social media. She has a B.F.A. in Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts in New York and an M.A. in Media Studies from Concordia University.
She is co-founder and co-director of Paraíso Bajo, a curatorial collective in Bogotá. Paraíso Bajo curated exhibitions outside of white-cube spaces in Bogotá, Cali and Amsterdam. She has developed additional collective activities over the past years which include Asamblea Ordinaria (a yearlong open-studio and discussion space) and Colectivo Fugaz (a collective interested in showcasing independent art publications from Colombia).
Recent solo exhibitions include SUAVE (SGR Galeria, 2018); Materia Exótica (curated by Paraíso Bajo, 2018); Conexión Casual/Causal (Universidad de los Andes, 2018).
Her publication SUAVE a zine (published by El Cajón Editorial, 2018) is now part of Stanford University’s Colombian zine collection. She was awarded the International Circulation for Fine Arts Projects scholarship by the Ministry of Culture of Colombia in 2015 for the independent publication project titled Colectivo Fugaz presented for Bergen Art Book Fair in Norway.
