Gabryelle is a second-year Master’s student at Concordia University in the History department. Starting in fall 2023, she will be continuing on as a PhD student. Their Master’s research focuses on the development of bisexual communities in Toronto in the late nineteenth century through feminist, post-structural and affective lenses. Much of her research entailed conducting oral history interviews with bisexual activists from this time. Her PhD work will continue with focusing on late twentieth century bisexual community histories with a focus on print media, analyzing the role that the queer press played in identity construction and reifying boundaries between bisexual people and other members of the queer community during this era.
