Getting Disciplined: A Conversation with Cáel Keegan

[acf field="date"]

Seminar
October 14, 2022
Time: 12:00-1:30pm

Feminist Media Studio CJ Building, Room 2.130 Concordia University 7141 Sherbrooke W Montreal (Qc)

This seminar will consist of a discussion with Cáel Keegan about the article “Getting Disciplined: What’s Trans* About Queer Studies Now?”  The article maps the epistemological terrain trains* studies may face as it is incorporated into queer studies programs, often housed within women’s studies departments. In the context of the professionalization of queer and women’s studies, trans* studies may find itself heard as an epistemic blockage, a distraction from proper objects, and a hindrance to customary methods, that must be disciplined. To RSVP for the seminar and receive a copy of the reading <here>.
